Of the many nutty things in Washington State this is at the top of the list and absolutely bananas. BTW also not just mental health it’s actually legislated for most all healthcare issues.

I’ve taken plenty of heat over the years for not having a hobby. My usual reply? I only have time to be good at two things, and I’ve chosen work and family. Of course, if you ask my family, they might say I’m not always as good at two things as I think. That’s part of what I love

It’s wild how folks who’ve never done a turnaround are losing their minds over radical changes. Having done a few, there’s no shortcut—you’ve gotta break eggs to reset a failing org. Usually can’t do it with the same leadership, and it always takes longer than you’d like.

Pournelle's Iron Law of Bureaucracy: In any organization, over time, the people who prioritize operating the bureaucracy will eventually ascend over the people committed to the mission of the bureaucracy, thus creating a self-contained entity dedicated to perpetuating itself.

A quick thought on leadership: Being intense? Fine. Firing a big chunk of your team and calling it ā€˜performance’ just to look tough? That’s cowardice. True leaders own their decisions—they don’t throw their people under the bus for a PR stunt. Period. Full stop.

Seattle drivers are the worst..no concept of what the left lane is for or how to merge with out stopping, getting out of the car, taking a look around, and then creeping cautiously into position. Ugh.

Great interview—100% agree with Satya on the 10% GDP metric. This is exactly why we’re building the supply chain operating system of the future. AI-enabled tech like Auger will help turn that vision into real-world productivity gains

What if AI’s success isn’t about how good it is—but how safe we’ve become? We’ve optimized for familiarity over originality and patterns over risk. Maybe AI isn’t replacing creativity. Maybe it’s reminding us why it's time to reclaim it. I see it everyday as the world fights

I believe it’s actually called the ā€œOpinion Sectionā€ so it’s clear to readers it is an opinion... I do love a good performative meltdown though.
