The Afghan resettlement scheme revealed this week and the secrecy around it were utterly wrong. But this is not the only way in which asylum decisions are kept secret from the public. A 🧵 on how this government is covering up the reality of its policies.

No more fish discos. Backed by Britain Remade & Looking for Growth, today I’ve set out radical plans to speed up and cut the cost of building the new nuclear power stations we need for our economy, for our energy security and for nature. telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/07/1…

I'm campaigning against our Islamic blasphemy laws. Labour are rigging the "Islamophobia" consultation - so we need YOU to take part. You can use my suggested answers here: nicktimothy.com/help-me-to-def… The deadline is TOMORROW. This is YOUR chance to save free speech in Britain.

Ed Miliband’s wind auction is 8 MONTHS LATE. And now it looks like he will start it in recess so he doesn’t have to face questions in Parliament. Why? Because he knows it will prove that his promise to cut your bills by £300 was a lie. Here’s why👇🏾

We need some honesty and transparency about the abuse of our asylum system. Labour are hiding illegal immigrants in the welfare system and covering up how much it costs you. The statistics we do get about how asylum seekers come here are shocking. 🧵 gov.uk/government/pub…

We’re launching Right Of Way, a podcast about energy policy, energy politics, and above all the upcoming permitting reform fight. Hosted by me and Pavan Venkatakrishnan, presented by IFP and Foundation for American Innovation 🇺🇸🚀. First episode dropping next week — stay tuned.

Illegal immigrants from places like Ethiopia and Albania are committing awful crimes. But Labour are keeping asylum accommodation secret. And the police are helping left-wing agitators to confront ordinary people worried about their kids’ safety. My letter to Yvette Cooper:

Most migrants can get Indefinite Leave to Remain after 5 years. It means they can stay here forever. And claim welfare, social housing and free healthcare. Millions of recent migrants didn’t come to work. Giving them ILR will cost us hundreds of billions. We mustn’t do it.

Over the past few days, several people have asked me what "conservative yimbyism" actually is. What does @ConsYIMBY stand for ideologically? And how is it different to the government's performative agenda? 🧵

China is flooding our economy by avoiding tariffs on cheap imports, undercutting British retailers and workers. How? Because we have allowed a tax loophole to stay wide open. It’s called the de minimus rule and we should scrap it. 🧵 x.com/edconwaysky/st…

Following new reports of police officers helping the rape gangs and raping and beating victims, I’ve written to the Home Secretary. There must be a National Crime Agency investigation into bent cops, councillors and others. Labour keep saying no. My letter and a 🧵

Energy has become scarce but for artificial reasons. Burdensome regs block new nuclear and expensive wind subsidies have raised electricity prices. Instead of fixing these underlying costs the Government is throwing cash at industry to subsidise their high energy bills!

Nick Timothy MP (@nj_timothy) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Labour said they'd cut energy bills by £300 a year. But they're ADDING £389 instead. We pay billions to stop renewables when it's too windy, and more for gas-fired power when it's not windy enough. Thanks to Ed Miliband, we'll all pay the price. thesun.co.uk/news/36127005/…
