When I first tried GPT3 I remember thinking writing as a skill was basically over. Now I think the opposite is true. LLMs still can’t write, everybody else’s abilities are atrophying, and being able to clearly express yourself in prose seems like it will only get more valuable

Modern LLMs while travelling feels almost as useful as the jump to smartphones and apps from none. Just wild how useful it is to have a kinda mediocre guide for ~everything.

An interesting risk for people who use precious metals as a hedge in their portfolios: in the coming decades, we should be able to mine asteroids where these metals are abundant, at which point their value will collapse. Presumably, prices would crash in anticipation of this
