I have a Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research funded 3yr post-doc position available in my Lab John Innes Centre to study engineering of immune receptors in cereal crops. Collaboration with Matthew Moscou, The Sainsbury Laboratory. Feel free to contact me with questions. Please RT! jobs.jic.ac.uk/Details.asp?vaâĶ

While NSW, Australia is under #Covid lockdown #wheat #striperust is moving freely in our fields PBI Cobbitty, University of Sydney. Stripe rust well-establishing for precision #rust resistance phenotyping.

#Wheat #leafrust developing swiftly in our #disease screening nurseries âĶPBI Cobbitty, University of SydneyâĐ

It's that time of the year again PBI Cobbitty, University of Sydney when the #wheat, #barley and #oats crop is advancing fast and our #ACRCP team is on top of it monitoring #rust #disease progress in well-established screening nurseries.

We've identified resistance to Barley stripe rust (BYR) caused by puccinia striiformis f. sp. hordei (Psh) and KASP markers for barley breeders ahead of BYR's arrival into Australia, GRDC GRDC North GRDC South Sydney Agriculture . Check out our paper: doi.org/10.3389/fpls.2âĶ

We are now inviting manuscripts for 'Plants' journal special issue 'Molecular Approaches for Plant Resistance to Rust Diseases'. See details below: mdpi.com/si/211365 #mdpiplants via Plants MDPI

#Striperust thrives in cool, moist conditions with temperatures between 10°C and 15°C and prolonged leaf wetness from dew or rain. These disease favoring conditions have been ideal at #Cobbitty this year and our #disease screening nurseries PBI Cobbitty, University of Sydney are thriving.

A great tour of PBI Cobbitty, University of Sydney University of Sydney with Drs. Karanjeet Sandhu & Davinder Singh and Matthew Williams. An impressive and crucial infrastructure for cereal rusts research. I havenât seen such an impressive infrastructure for rust research anywhere in US/Canada.

Plz RT: Iâll be recruiting 2-3 grad students in 2025. If youâre interested in wheat breeding, genetics/genomics of agronomic, quality, pest resistance traits, genomic selection, email me with subject line-CBL studentship. Generous stipend+tuition. Weâre based in City of Edmonton
