Two-phase anaerobic digestion can produce both VFAs and biogas. VFAs such as butyric acid can be processed to butanol, a sustainable transport fuel. Biogas produced on-demand can fulfil the electrical demand of large industry at peak hours. New paper: authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S09…
