Really fortunate and humbled to be part of such a great group of #healthscience and #engineering researchers! Looking forward to meeting and learning from all the awardees and faculty Cornell BME Sept 22-23, in partnership w/Columbia BME Columbia Engineering Columbia Medicine Johns Hopkins BME

One of the highlights of my year is talking to Duke University School of Medicine medical students about ‘the future of spine surgery’. Always a lively discussion and refreshing to see the eagerness to learn and improve care for patients.

Curious how machine learning can help triage patients with low back pain? Come to #2023CNS to hear about work by Muhammad Abd-El-Barr MD PhD FAANS Duke Neurosurgery, and participate in hands-on coding! Looking forward to CNS meeting and meeting new and old friends/colleagues. Looking forward to my 3 presentations: ERAS in Spine Awake Spine Surgery Machine Learning for Triaging Back Pain Kudos to the organizers: Elad Levy @lola_chambless Garni Barkhoudarian, MD Edjah Nduom, MD (he/him) #CNS2023

Highlights from yesterday's CNS #2023CNS symposium include Peter Fecci presentation on laser interstitial thermal therapy. Fecci is director of the Duke Center for Brain and Spine Metastasis. Duke Center for Brain and Spine Metastasis

Had a great time at CNS 2023! Didn’t think attending the conference with a newborn would be possible. Thank you to my mentors in Duke Neurosurgery Dr. Nandan Lad and Muhammad Abd-El-Barr MD PhD FAANS for always giving me opportunities to grow and learn as an aspiring physician scientist!

Amazing #machinelearning symposium put together by Duke Neurosurgery residents Duke University School of Medicine students Vishal Venkatraman Tanner Zachem Syed Adil, MD Andreas Seas CNS

Patient had L4-S1 fusion and L23 lateral elsewhere and was wheelchair bound.L3-4 PCO w/L34 prone lateral, L4 PSO with myself, Dr. Bhowmick Duke Neurosurgery .He can now walk independently. The lines between open and MIS are becoming blurry and that's great for patients.

Great honor to give Grand Rounds (virtual) today at Cornell alongside my colleague Duke Anesthesiology Dr.Michael Bullock. Thank you Dr. Ibrahim Hussain for the invite and Dr. Roger Härtl. Excited to see the great care we are able to provide to our patients. Duke Spine

Excited to share our most recent project! We applied some of the same computational principles used in gene expression analysis to the NCDB across multiple GI malignancies. Thank you to Duke Surgical Oncology DukeCTSurgery Surgical Oncology Insight!

Congratulations to Yale Surgery Yale Surgical Residency . Ryan Kramer, MD is, in short, the very best of us.

Awake Spine Surgery is very helpful in certain cases. In this video, we describe the benefits of awake spine surgery and you can hear one of the very satisfied patients that underwent awake spine surgery: youtube.com/watch?v=b0CPMh… Duke Health Duke Neurosurgery
