Today, December 2nd 2024, Nigeria introduced the malaria vaccine into its Expanded Program on immunization. The first phase will target Bayelsa and Kebbi states, focusing on children aged 5–11 months with subsequent doses at 6, 7, and 15 months.

The Direct Consulting and Logistics (DCL) team conducted an Auto Pilot Pretest for its project "Strengthening HPV Vaccination and Adolescent Health Research Program (SHARP)" on the 28th and 29th November 2024 in Dagiri LGA, Abuja, Nigeria.

As we mark the month of cervical cancer awareness, let us look back to a project DCL implemented to curb the rate of cervical cancer in Nigeria and remind ourselves to encourage anyone living with young girls aged 9-14 years to get them vaccinated. #cervicalcancerawareness #hpv

On 28th January 2025, Direct Consulting Logistics (DCL) attended a fruitful meeting with the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, who was delighted to join the HPV vaccine champions.

His concern for the health of young people is aligned with DCL's goal to provide support for effective vaccine access and disease control initiatives. DCL is prepared to lead solutions in line with this shared goal to increase vaccine awareness and access.

On Tuesday, 24th February 2025, Direct Consulting conducted an Human-Centered Design Workshop in Lagos for its Strengthening HPV Vaccination for Adolescent Health Research (SHAPR) Project aimed at improving access to HPV vaccines to protect adolescent girls from cervical cancer.

In May 2025, Direct Consulting, IVAC, NPHCDA, and Jhpiego held orientation sessions for health workers in Lagos and Kebbi to launch SHARP. The sessions, based on earlier Human-Centered Design work, prepared teams to deliver HPV vaccines with other adolescent health services.
