Talking about the writing effort with family tonight. As an indie, you have to go in eyes wide open. Be prepared and be motivated to do it all. It is hard, but I love this craft. I write because the stories inside me wont let me rest.

I'm not getting much out of KU and thinking of going wide. Any thoughts from other authors and particularly fanasy authors?

My 8 yr old daughter had a sore throat, and with everything she hears, she got scared about illness and said: "if I die will we all be together? Will I see you like I do now?" I cried. Hug your people. It is all that matters.

UK family vacation over, landed back in Perth. I had high hopes of flight-time writing, but it didn't work. A few hundred words, some editing, but not a lot. It works when it's just me, but otherwise I'm too conscious of everyone else and cant lose myself. Interesting insight.

Such an interesting journey this writing thing! I wrote what I consider a gritty and realistic epic fantasy. Over the 6months since publishing, I have been told it is dark fantasy. I am now talking about it that way, but in my head it is still an epic fantasy story.

I know more established authors out there will roll their eyes, but my baby is just over 6 months in the wild and I get a massive rush when a reader sends me a pic of receiving my book.
