Some articles just shouldn't be written -- like this one. DPI increased $384 billion in January; $10 billion more was paid in Social Security benefits. But somehow inflation is Social Security's fault??? Stock Investors: Blame Social Security finance.yahoo.com/m/d5876b31-9aa… via Yahoo

The opportunities and challenges of aging societies are worldwide. In China, a decades-old policy that lets women retire as early as 50 and men at 60 is becoming untenable as a wave of retirees looms wsj.com/articles/china… via The Wall Street Journal

#SSI’s asset limit (2k per person, 3k per couple) penalizes, rather than encourages, saving-- but after inflation, is worth only 1/6th of what it did in 1972. It's past time for an update. Our new paper makes the case for upping the asset limit: cbpp.org/research/socia…

Dear airlines, a flight with 76 seats does not need 9 boarding groups. Look, I'm an economist; I get it. You want to extract economic rents by segmenting people. But there comes a point where it becomes silly and insulting, and people tire of being extracted.

High debt is a serious challenge for the 50-Plus. But don't take my word for it. Check out: On the Hook: Debt and Adults 50-Plus aarp.org/pri/topics/wor…

Here's an idea. Instead of customers providing free labor at "self-checkout," stores reduce prices (let's say 10%) for people who use self-checkout.

Really disappointing Lowe's wouldn't even provide store credit for $10 in tiles (in perfect condition and in stock), when Floor and Decor was happy to do so. I get 90-day return policies, but I'm redoing bathrooms and contractors get delayed.

People waiting for a disability determination from the #SocialSecurity administration experience economic + health hardships. The disproportionate impact of low funding on #SSA’s disability program raises equity + benefits access concerns. Urban Institute spr.ly/6018c3Qwr
