Very sad news from Ecuador. Our dear friend and colleague Marcelo Muñoz passed away. After his PhD at Université de Montpellier where he did pioneering work on shrimp immunity mentored by Evelyne Bachere, he became a professor at ESPOL. He leaves us far too early. We will miss him sorely.

Very sad news from Ecuador. Our dear friend and colleague Marcelo Muñoz passed away. Congratulations to Mesnil Aurélie on her #PhD defense! Beautiful work on #Vibrio aestuarianus #ecology and #evolution. Aurélie showed that two clonal lineages causing #disease in #oyster emerged in the 1970's and spread across Europe. Congrats Aurélie! IHPE_Lab
