Two weeks ago, I wrote AERA leadership to share a petition for the Resolution for Justice in Falastin. I'm still waiting for their response. If academic organizations choose silence and complicity, we must boycott them.

This was the milquetoast response I received from AERA Council (AERA) after I emailed them the Petition. They’re apparently “saddened” if over 700 signatories collectively boycott this organization, yet they’re not saddened by the incalculable violence in Gaza.

My response to the American Educational Research Association Council regarding their silence and complicity.

If the AERA Council is unwilling to show minimum levels of solidarity with the most urgent issues, it will be remembered for its inaction and indifference—when men, women, and children were buried under the rubble; when dead bodies were strewn in the streets... - Jairo Fúnez ✊🏽✊🏽

J.I.F.F. thank you for demanding for calling out AERA's indifference and silence towards Palestine. This is historical register of the council's refusal and limitations in seeing the geopolitical context of this time.
