Among other things, the Nobel-winning tool AlphaFold that can predict the structures of proteins would not be possible without the training set of more than 200,000 protein crystal structures that have been experimentally determined using the technique developed by the Braggs.

It is never a bad time to emphasize something crucial: the Braggs were simply shooting x-rays at crystals. The AlphaFold scientists were simply testing out algorithms for protein folding. This is all basic science that leads ultimately to huge advances. It must be supported.
