Aravalli Biodiversity Park, Vasant Kunj is home to quite a few Roheda (Tecomella undulata) trees. Saw one of them blooming. Interestingly, Rohtak in Haryana is said to derive its name from Roheda (Rohitaka in Sanskrit) since it was once the site of a forest of Roheda trees.

Aravalli Biodiversity Park, Vasant Kunj is home to some outstanding Ghost Trees (Sterculia urens).  The gum produced from trees of Sterculia species is known as gum karaya. Sterculia urens, Sterculia setigera and Sterculia villosa are the major source of gum karaya.

As one approaches Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, one meets many a Jerusalem thorn trees (Parkinsonia aculeata), bedecked with fragrant yellow flowers! The tree is native to southern US/northern Mexico. It is also known as palo verde(green tree) due to its characteristic green trunk.
