In > 18,000 Chinese #T2D individuals from Hong Kong, we utilized the latest pathway-specific polygenic risk scores (psPRS) to dissect the heterogeneity in disease progression and diabetic complications (P1). rdcu.be/d0hw3 Dr Ronald Ma Richard Oram @mnweedon CUHK Medicine

Dr Ronald Ma Richard Oram @mnweedon CUHK Medicine Beta-cell-dysfunction and lipodystrophy could be the driving pathological pathways in T2D individuals with normal weight. Genetic risks of beta-cell-dysfunction and obesity are two major genetic drivers of T2D heterogeneity in disease progression and diabetic complications (P2).

Great to see our research cited in the chapter Management of Diabetes in Pregnancy from Standards of Care in Diabetes 2025 by the American Diabetes Association Access the full text following this link: diabetesjournals.org/care/article/4… Prof Kamlesh Khunti Clare Gillies

Excited to see our study featured by Diabetologia .We revealed how maternal overweight & #GDM shape offspring adiposity from birth to adolescence, providing new insights for targeted prevention strategies. Grateful to my supervisor Dr Ronald Ma for the guidance! #HAPO

Our 18-year #HAPO study showed maternal glucose-offspring outcome continuous relationships, suggesting monitoring across the glycaemic spectrum, not just #GDM thresholds. Thanks to my supervisor Dr Ronald Ma’s guidance, and Prof. Tam & Prof. Wang for co-leading HAPO! #pregnancy
