Our new study shows starting breast screening at age 40 is not only cost effective- it is cost savings. As treatment costs rise exponentially for advanced cancers, earlier diagnosis with screening saves both lives and $ Jean Seely, MD uOttawa | Faculté de médecine, Faculty of Medicine Julie Renaud Moira Rushton, MD, MPH Canadian Society of Breast Imaging

Great review of supplemental screening in women with extremely dense breasts by Sitges, Ritse Mann shows small benefit of 3D mammograms (vs. 2D), a bit more from US, and greatest benefit from contrast-enhanced methods (CEM, esp. MRI). @DenseBreastinfo ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/39853811

All provincial parties promise access to care for all Ontarians in coming years. Election promises are not accomplishments. In Denmark, >98% of residents has a GP (as they call them). Listen to White Coat Black Art and find out why. thestar.com/politics/provi… via Toronto Star

Provincial and territorial govts continue to disregard CTFPHC | GECSSP flawed and dangerous guidelines. NL becomes jurisdiction #7 to implement self-referral at 40. More to come. Thank you Premier of NL and Minister Hogan for following the science. Lives will be saved. #nlpoli

"Our current cancer screening guidelines are entrenched in the past, driving geographic and racial health disparities, and impacting cancer outcomes." Thank you Anna Wilkinson for the Op-Ed and bringing attention to breast, prostate, cervical, colorectal, lung cancer screening

Canada's breast screening guidelines are driving geographical inequities. Let's give all Canadians a chance to find breast cancer early, no matter where they live. #cdnpoli
