Had a great time judging at yesterday's Westchester Science & Engineering Fair. Amazing projects by such talented students! ChatGPT to diagnose rare diseases; AI for reading MRIs of sports injuries; testing food crop survival in space rockets! The future is bright! #WESEF

Congrats to Dr. Maja Oktay, professor of pathology and surgery, on being named co-director of Einstein's Integrated Imaging Program for Cancer Research! A top #cytopathologist focused on #metastasis and racial disparities in cancer, she will co-lead IIPCR with Dr. John Condeelis.

Thinking about our dearest Patricia Keely today. It is because of her, and her revolutionary discoveries that seven years ago I decided to focus my research on the #PancreaticCancer CAF/ECM functional units. Everything my team does is in her memory. She is greatly missed šŸ’œ

3) Using intravital microscopy, we compared how efficiently adult and newborn mice livers capture bacteria. Following Escherichia coli (yellow) infection — a common cause of neonatal sepsis and meningitis — we found a drastic reduction in bacterial capture in newborn livers.
