"Finished the Alderley 10K in 47mins :18 sec —a bit slower than usual because of the heat. My goal was to maintain a 4:45/km pace with a heart rate of 155 bpm. Took it easy and treated it as a solid training run ahead of next week’s Chester Half Marathon (21.2 km).

Pacing parkrun 5km for daughters, both got their pb 37mins, swimming session, birthday attendance, tomorrow Chester half marathon 21.2 km.

"I just finished Damian Hall’s *In It for the Long Run* in 10 days! **Now, if I had to pick my favorite type of running, it’s trail running—no question. Road races don’t appeal to me as much with their constant time pressure.**

Today:** Finished a double Parkrun (10km total), followed by a 20-minute hot sauna and a 30-minute swim with my daughters. Tomorrow’s goal is a long 23km run. I’ve learned to take things in stride—not every run has to be 100% effort. Officially wigan harriers club runner.
