The gas was used to light the Hall & some of the houses within the parish. Following an extended period of vacancy, a group of local volunteers got together in 2013 to save it. 10 yrs later, thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund & other funding, the building has been repaired & extended.

Delighted to see the cottage longlisted! This project really has been all about the local community and volunteers, more so than the architect, and so is very fitting for the #ribajmacewen awards! James Boon Derbyshire Wildlife Trust Andrew Churchman Ltd DHBT @DVMillsWHS

Today’s site visit to see a recently completed project of ours, looking great despite the weather! The Birchover stone used for the extension beautifully compliments the stone of the original house and the sliding glass doors now wonderfully link the house to the garden!
