We need reporting not just to share what impacts disabled people in the wider world but also how the organisations that are meant to be supporting us work. I'm not obsessed that every reporter on disability be a disabled person, but we definitely need more. #AXSChat

The first challenge is getting our foot - or wheel, or cane - in the door. Journalism opportunities are extremely limited. The answer is simple: support disabled journalists and their work. Money, clicks, it all counts. We get the media we pay attention to. #AXSChat

By the way another thing for folk interested in this is to look up Disability Justice Project, a unique project working with disabled journalists in the global south and coming out with brilliant documentaries and reporting #AXSChat

Reporting and media are essential for democratic exchange. Transparency and accountability are especially needed in issues that affect marginalized populations. Too much has been done in the name of disabled people without us knowing anything about it. #AXSChat

Investigative journalism has the power to challenge these dynamics, exposing hidden decisions and helping to ensure disabled people are not just consulted but leading the conversation. #AXSChat

This is tough one, I think we're all navigating how we use AI. AI is a great assistant, and I use it as such. But we need to be careful about letting it take over. In my own work, I prioritise hearing directly from disabled people. #AXSChat
