Example of what happens when a mainstream economist discovers structural inequality (without 'discovering' the theories to explain it): very impressive empirical documentation of it + completely out-of-touch assumptions about how to fix it (taxation, cheap debt, human capital).

It’s great to have the trends. But it’s also unfortunate that mainstream (& increasingly even critical) economists only understand the empirics w/o a theory of how, why, source of it. This is where political economy framework master & where our intellectual curiosity must focus.
