Happy 10th bday to @GooglePhotos! It was an early example of AI research becoming reality, using deep neural networks to search in an entirely new way. Now our 1.5B monthly users search their 9T(!) photos + videos 370M times every month - incredible progress!

I’ll say: leaders at Google directly addressing feedback on twitter is becoming more common. This is a great sign 👏🏼

One of the reasons I left Google after my yearlong medical leave was that our team had doubled in size, when I’d have rather it been cut in half.

We built app sharing into Bump in 2010, but all we could do was pass App Store urls. Cool to see *native apps* shared via “bump”. (Oh and also cool you can make a fully featured native app in natural language right on your phone!)

This moment from WWDC 2013 when Craig Federighi poked fun at Bump was a not-insignificant motivation I carried for years to make sure Google Photos continually smoked Apple Photos. And it's nice hearing ppl still call it "bumping" on their copycat, more than a decade later.

Today we’re excited to introduce Bland TTS, the first voice AI to cross the uncanny valley. Several months ago, our team solved one-shot style transfer of human speech. That means, from a single, brief MP3, you can clone any voice or remix another clone’s style (tone, cadence,

Congrats to the 141 new startups that are presenting today at YC Alumni Demo Day. This is our first spring batch ever, and the startups are growing faster than ever. This time the batch on average grew revenue by 12% per week— 4th batch in a row growing >10%/week!

Went to see Mumford at the Greek tonight. Steph was there singing along and dancing and filming on his phone just like the rest of us. AI is cool but so is genuine human connection.

I first got to know Dalton in 2009/2010 when we were both doing mobile startups. Getting to learn from him a decade later here at YC has been a real privilege. The new Series A product he's building with PB at Standard Capital is going to change VC. Thanks for everything, Dalton.

It's hard to overstate how much Dalton Caldwell has given to YC. Much of what I've learned about being a good YC partner came from watching him. Grateful to have gotten the chance to work so closely together.

Congrats to Harman Singh Narula and CanaryTechnologies on the $80M raise. techcrunch.com/2025/06/12/hot… For me, this is a perfect example of what's great about YC -- I was an audience member at Demo Day, saw Harman's pitch, got excited, met him for coffee, and invested. Exciting to see them do

Bennett Siegel Cole Rotman Sadly we have a history of missing the early fundraising winners. We missed HomeAway and had to settle for Airbnb. Didn't get GrubHub and had to be ok with Doordash. No Braintree for us but we scraped by with Stripe. It's tough out there!
