Floored by how beautifully my coworkers documented so many facets of the feeling of right now. And helped make some sense of it. Podcast out tonight.

I am sending a message of appreciation out to all the hard working, fact finding, true story telling journalists out there. That's the tweet. That is all.

A little window into the confusion & hopelessness at the airport in Kabul these past couple weeks, and into the incredible effort to get people safely out. Canada, where Ajmal's a citizen of, stopped its evacuations last week. We're due to be out tomorrow. So many left behind.

I was honestly v skeptical that these stories could work, but Ira Glass's sheer enthusiasm, the skills & brains of Tobin Low Jiayang Fan ęØŠå˜‰ę‰¬ Sean Cole alex sujong laughlin - plus the absolute GAME-ness of Melissa C. Lott, PhD to participate - and the goofy mixes! - made it one of my favorites of the year

Arrived home and realized it’s the last time I get to dig the Post Magazine out of my parents’ stack of papers on the kitchen table and immediately read Date Lab the way I’ve done every visit home since college. Thanks to everyone who made the magazine, awfully sad to see it go.

So I’m working on a story about marriage pacts - those ā€œif we’re both 50 and still single let’s get marriedā€ deals. I’m looking for folks who went actually through with a deal like that or are working up the courage to go through with it. DM me if that’s you or someone you know!

I produced this story, and at one point during the interview, quietly texted @KieseLaymon a question to ask Darryl, which he did, and Darryl responded, "That sounds like a Diane Wu question!" Within one interview Darryl had figured us both out. A deep listener. Hate this news
