This is a serious concern. Riot control agents must not be used as weapons of war. ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฟ commends the OPCWโ€™s independent and expert advice.

New Zealandโ€™s position on anti-personnel mines is clear: we want an end to the suffering they cause. We are deeply concerned about any anti-personnel mine use in Ukraine, whether by Russia or Ukraine, and any developments that increase the likelihood of these weapons being used.

๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฟ is honoured to be in ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ญ for the 5th Review Conference of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention Anti-personnel landmines are inhumane weapons that disproportionately harm civilians & children, lingering long after conflict has ended. They have no place in 2024 and must be consigned to history
