We're happy to announce Rachael (Rachael Ditzler) passed her 2nd year oral exams and is the Zhukho group's first PhD candidate! Along with the GRFP, this was an exciting week for her!
#UNCResearchWeek Day 4! Zhukhovitskiy Group is harnessing the power of synthetic #organicchemistry to make the world greener. They are conducting experiments on editing the polymer makeup of non-degradable #plastics to make them degradable and sustainable. Aleksandr Zhukhovitskiy @UNCResearch
I’m excited and honored to be giving a talk next week (March 24th) as part of PhD Student & Postdoc Symposium in Polymer Science!
We are kicking off with our first round of talks this Thursday at 4 PM (UK)! We are thrilled to host Swagata Mondal and Rachael Ditzler. Join us for some discussions about Janus Crosslinks and Sigmatropic Rearrangements! Register here and find more info: tinyurl.com/yubsdzj9

Yesterday I defended my Ph.D. dissertation! I’m extremely grateful to have received guidance and support from my advisor, Alex (Aleksandr Zhukhovitskiy), throughout my time in graduate school. I am going to miss being at UNC and especially being in lab with the members of the Zhukhovitskiy Group.
Excited to share this collaborative work with the Ian Tonks group, led by a powerhouse duo Rachael Ditzler and Rachel Rapagnani. We demonstrated architectural editing of polyester and polyurethane backbones through Pd-catalyzed 3,3-rearrangements pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…
Researchers from UNC Chem and U of M introduced a novel method to alter polymers after production without changing their chemical composition. Read more about Aleksandr Zhukhovitskiy, Zhukhovitskiy Group, Rachael Ditzler, Ian Tonks and Rachel Rapagnani's groundbreaking work: chem.unc.edu/?p=26403
