New preprint with Caroline I Jahn on how the brain learns to control attention in a changing environment! We find attention is learned incrementally from reward feedback, and it maps stimuli into a generalized space that can guide decisions in many settings. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

🚨 It’s official! Our paper describing a novel value-based decision paradigm for 🐵 is now out at eLife - the journal 🚨 elifesciences.org/articles/78205 Huge shoutout to my awesome PI, McGinty Neuroeconomics Lab, for all of his guidance and support! Here’s a quick preview 🧵 1/

🥂Out this week in Nature Neuroscience with Shira Lupkin🥂: Our study on how values are represented in populations of primate orbitofrontal neurons, and how these value signals are “read out” downstream to influence economic choices. Read it here ➡️ rdcu.be/dqpBZ

🎉 Overjoyed to share my first lead-author study! This work marks the first step in my quest to innovate minimally invasive #BMIs - my lifelong goal! It was never possible w/o the unwavering support of my amazing mentor McGinty Neuroeconomics Lab and labmate Shira Lupkin. Deep thanks ❤️

Deeply proud and grateful for everything the lab has accomplished this year. Thank you Dixit Sharma, PhD, emirhan , Tevin, and Anne - and a shout out to Shira Lupkin on her new adventures in Chicago!

🎉There's a new doctor in the world!🎉 A warm congratulations to Dixit Sharma, PhD, PhD. I'm proud of you! You’ve come so far, and we’re excited to see how far you’ll go. Thanks to Matt Smith for serving as outside examiner, and to Denis Pare for serving as chair.

🚀Excited to share our preprint is now in #JNeurosci SfN Journals! We show that #OFC high-gamma isn't just aggregated spiking (or noise)—it reflects #value and #decision components that spikes alone don’t capture! 🔗tinyurl.com/hgspikes With McGinty Neuroeconomics Lab Shira Lupkin

Thanks for spreading the word! Decision Neuroscience and Neuroeconomics Papers

🎇A happy update🎇: The final version our paper is live on J Neurosci! We show that gamma rhythms in orbitofrontal cortex have surprising properties in value-based choice. Check out the link at SfN Journals , or see below for the short-and-sweet . . . jneurosci.org/content/45/20/…

Happy to connect with so many great BCI researchers at my first BCI Society meeting! Super well-organized – big kudos to the team.👏 Looking forward to more!
