It is now confirmed Israel killed Mohammed Sinwar while he was hiding under the European hospital. FACT: Hamas leaders hide under hospitals. Every single media outlet should apologise for demonising Israel over the strike, and the entire @bbcnews Verify team should be fired.

For generations, entry-level positions served as steppingstones for new grads-but that model is unraveling. We'll have to redesign first jobs. nytimes.com/2025/05/19/opi…

"A clear majority on a clear question would trigger constitutional negotiations as he says but I’m quite certain that Senator Marc Gold would have read para 155 of the SCC Secession Reference and would not exclude the scenario of Trump recognizing a UDI by Alberta" Norman Spector

(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump said he would be increasing tariffs on steel to 50% from 25%, saying the move would help protect American steelworkers during a visit to a United States Steel Corp. plant on Friday.

In just the first four months of the year we added roughly the equivalent of Mississauga in population. How is that remotely sustainable?

Just a reminder that the idea of exporting LNG from the west coast isn't just something Canadians are evaluating. Heads of DOE, EPA & Interior are in Alaska this week, talking about plans for a new gas pipeline and LNG export proposal.

The most interesting part of that news conference was Mark Carney and Danielle Smith talking about a "grand bargain" in the oil sands: getting companies to build carbon capture in exchange for more oil export capacity. What this looks like in practice is still a big Q, of course.

Brian Platt (@btaplatt) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Smith, of course, said her preferred solution is "a million barrel a day pipeline going to the northwest BC coast." Carney didn't commit to anything but seemed open to some kind of grand bargain that allows oil companies to increase production (or at least get a better price)

Finally, a political leader saying out loud what needs to be said: Harper said Sikh separatists “have a right to their democratic views” but he suggested those views have no place within the Canadian government. ctvnews.ca/politics/artic…

Carney told reporters today that Canada will "take some time" in deciding on a response to Trump's doubling of metals tariffs. Carney cited ongoing trade talks with the US, but this is also a difference from Trudeau, who typically retaliated immediately with counter-tariffs.
