During Tamil Genocide Education Week, we continue to learn how genocides impact our communities. We honour the innocent people who were displaced & those who lost their lives. We also recognize the lasting trauma & impact this genocide has on Tamil communities here in Toronto.

We’re deeply saddened to learn of the mass shooting across the border in Buffalo that took the lives of at least 10 people & left 3 others injured in what police are calling a racially motivated hate crime.The victims, their loved ones & the people of Buffalo are in our thoughts.

As we mark the one year anniversary of the hate-based attack on a Muslim family in London, Ontario that claimed four lives, the TDSB continues to confront and interrupt Islamophobia and all forms of hate and racism. We stand together with the Muslim community.
