Immensely proud of this team + club. I'm lucky enough to live 5 minutes from the 1st tee + several holes look over the village where I live. I'm probably amongst the worst golfers who are a member at the club but the welcome and camaraderie is second to none. Enjoy the night all

One thing you never get taught or prepared for during medical training is being on call as a consultant. I've been rewarded with a certain medal many times but this weekend, the magnet really has been switched on for bleeds in CTM 😳 scoping is rewarding, the waiting is horrible

Who loves a "just to let you know" or a "I want to give you heads up" at midnight 😳

When you are told at job planning you can't possibly be doing admin after 5pm and definitely not at midnight 🤨

Some useful tools to self assess and friend assess. Sadly nothing will change in the NHS despite us talking about this more and more but at least you can join the club/ you tick the boxes then carry on working yourself into the ground even more 👍

For those who like my out of office messages 11 hours left on call then out of office, out and away. Having spoken to friend and colleagues throughout this week I don't think we have know a more relentless period in the NHS, worse than the pandemic. Rest and self care needed 🥺

Another fantastic two days at the Senior Leadership Development programme @HEIW_NHS with amazing talks on organisational structure and culture, wellbeing and psychological safety. No easy fixes when so many actively resist change but being part of an amazing cohort is inspiring

The WG NHS plan won't work: 1) clear the waiting lists - how do we do that with a woefully inadequate workforce? WLI's are costly and we don't want them... We are shattered/burnt out doing more than we are paid for already. 2) Digital transformation - our printers don't work 🤨

Some phenomenal shots and hole outs this afternoon The Solheim Cup. What an amazing weekend of golf. Both teams seem really close and united, the standards are sublime and the rivalry but respect to each other also brilliant. The atmosphere sounds great too
