Housing association asks High Court to clarify Vistry’s responsibility for fire safety defects: Housebuilder rejects responsibility over historic defects in Salford flats built by subsidiary Countryside dlvr.it/TMltBK #construction #news

A thoughtful read. Too many people are trapped in unsafe homes - let down by the safeguards that are supposed to protect. As Dominic writes too often, “corporate gain would outweigh human safety and any moral duty to do the right thing”. Safety shouldn’t be a tick-box exercise.

Dominic Ahern Richmond House Residents Mark Hawes Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Gov Keir Starmer Angela Rayner Inside Housing Honestly, communicating with is office is just like the same legal game of tennis we’ve had with our developer and warranty provider. It’s been a miserable experience with the aim of wearing us down.

Starmer’s problem is not that he lacks direction. His issue is that he has one, namely back to technocratic legalism, globalism, and an extreme commitment to elite consensus. He's anchored in a dead era. And he thinks Britain’s democratic instincts are a problem to be managed.

I've spent quite a large part of the summer working on this long read: new documents which shed light on the failures which led to the Ronan Point disaster in the 1960s, which hold eerie parallels with the politics of today: insidehousing.co.uk/insight/the-lp…

Congratulations to Zack Polanski on your stunning victory. Your campaign took on the rich and powerful, stood up for the dignity of all marginalised communities, and gave people hope! Real change is coming. I look forward to working with you to create a fairer, kinder world.

Cristo Have you read about the Trust? Don't you believe that she thought she'd completely offloaded her interest in the former matrimonial home when she woke her share?

Dominic Ahern (@dominicahern) 's Twitter Profile Photo

No but maybe we should have some sympathy for your father Nadhim Zahawi being pulled into your grubby tax affairs. Low stuff and you should probably have the decency to wind your neck in. Wonder if Angela Rayner will get a 30% penalty like you?

Based on this short clip Angela Rayner has to go Harriet Harman’s argument for assumes she got proper legal advice and based on the statement from her solicitors it appears she didn’t. Poor judgement, lack of attention to detail and double standards 👋
