An honour and a privilege to receive the Laura Brennan Award from ISGO earlier today. Laura was a true inspiration and tireless advocate for improved HPV vaccine uptake. Even when faced with a terminal diagnosis, she dedicated herself to saving lives with vaccination.

Our paper Science Immunology shows certain lipids are responsible for the immunosupression of ascites & propose blocking lipid uptake thru SCARB1 may help immunotherapy success in ovarian cancer. Wonderful to collaborate with Donal Brennan again, Marcia Haigis & super postdoc Karen Slattery

Mentorship is so underrated in academia, privileged to have encountered amazing mentors. As one once said “if you help them on the way up, they’ll help you on the way down”
