People need to take what’s happening in academia much more seriously. Education control is a major step in fascism. This isn’t some ivory tower problem esp because state universities are much more at risk of control

Covid finally caught me, 3.5 years into the pandemic. One-way masking only goes so far. Curious why I tested negative at the height of my symptoms (48 hrs ago) and positive once they started to fade— has anyone else experienced this?

So many people are coming back from conferences with COVID. They really should make people test before and have testing during, especially @ the smaller conferences. If nothing changes, there's a good chance SFN will be a super spreader event. I hope I'm wrong. I'm concerned.

I’ve been contemplating whether conferences are “worth it.” On the one hand, 3/5 of my latest conferences resulted in direct opportunities that I would not have happened from online events. It is also nice to meet people in person and have time to have discussions…

I just wished that our scientific community would collectively make a stance and decide that we will all mask as much as possible and test prior to arrival to minimize risk for everyone. It’s a small thing to do, but there is so much to gain. x.com/nih/status/169…

Excited to share my new op-ed in MedPage Today, addressing the tragic NIH decision to cancel investment into improving health communication. If there was one bipartisan sentiment that came out of the pandemic, it was this: the communication was terrible. medpagetoday.com/opinion/second…

what's even the point of being on this god-forsaken web site if there's no fat bear week? The right wing of the U.S. Congress wants to restrict our freedom to read AND our access to fat bears? Unacceptable.

The only media subscription that really feels indispensable to me is Dropout. Like, I could (easily) live without Hulu, but I watch something on Dropout every single day and feel great about the cost and the value proposition.

Congressional staffers say an onslaught of calls and emails asking for members to support a cease-fire has caught Dems completely off-guard. "I’ve never seen such a disconnect between where voters and constituents are and where Congress is" huffpost.com/entry/calls-fo…

🚨 new paper! This review delves in the literature to answer the question: do motor and social behaviors rely on the *same* cerebellar cellular, synaptic, and molecular pathways? The short answer? They don't. The full text, open access here: link.springer.com/article/10.100…
