Shameful how some groups and persons are continuing to perpetuate disinformation and undermine confidence in scientific outputs in order to push for continued unprotection of dingoes in Victoria.

Listen to & respect *all* voices. Provide sufficient investment for non-lethal methods & tools to protect livestock. Protect Australia’s largest (aside from us) land-based predator, the dingo, & its cultural & ecological values. theguardian.com/environment/20… By @StockPetra

So devastating & another example of the horrendous way some treat dingoes. On the 24th of September, two dingoes, Steve and Eulalia, were shot on the side of the road at Wooleen Station in W.A. Please sign the petition against Murchison’s dingo bounty. change.org/p/stop-the-shi…

A thing never highlighted … Every DP grant from the ARC is a salary for a young Australian scientist to develop their career. One DP grant to a mentor = one career for the next generation. DP grants are the ONLY means to fund salaries for our best new scientists.

Over 130,000 years Australia's predator community has been reorganised, what does this mean for ecological function and food webs? In Current Biology, we show that modern food webs resemble those of the Late Pleistocene, but only when dingoes are present. shorturl.at/BGz3L

Almost like how the Victorian Gov DEECA Victoria Jacinta Allan recognize dingoes are a vulnerable threatened species but are still allowing (and extending) lethal control 3km into public land in eastern Victoria. This is not evidence-based policy, this is policy failure.

People often ask me what I do for my ā€œjobā€ envisaging exciting field work and seeing wild dingoes in the bush… But the reality is very different. Today I’m subsampling dingo ears for a new project… and picking up the mail which contains more ear samples… šŸ‘©šŸ»ā€šŸ”¬šŸ‘©ā€šŸ’»šŸ•
