The 16th ASCODD was a showcase of  scientific developments in the field of cholera and typhoid but also on malnutrition, microbiome, metagenomics and Covid19 to name a few. It was exciting to see young and mid level scientists, especially women deliver presentations.

Over 400 presentations from  8 countries; many different institutions joined the ASCODD. The networking was great as were the cultural programs and food. This was the first large international meeting in our settings after the pandemic.

Thanks to Dr Shanta Dutta, the Chairperson of the 16th ASCODD for this wonderful conference and to BMGF and other sponsors. This 16th ASCODD will build an even more richer South-South and South-North global collaboration going into the future.  To learn more visit www.ascodd2022

The sooner we have TCV in the EPI in our settings the better. The realisation of the high burden of typhoid fever and that TCV is so highly protective through the multicountry STRATAA and TYVAC studies have brought about a change; #StopAMR/MDR/XDR #Stop Typhoid

#CervicalCancer More awareness and usefulness of the vaccine in preventing cervical cancer is much needed to #stopCervical Cancer globally and especially in LMICs

A great gathering. So much good science and progress. Was a pleasure to see young and midlevel scientist, many women delivering new thoughts on vaccines and correlates of protection of enterics. Left with renewed hope to #DefeatDD in Post Covid era. Together we will Succeed

I am a big believer in letting the year end with recollections and in welcoming the new. 2022 has been great on a scientific and personal field. We could make great strides in global health and also helped me cope with a big loss to remake my life. Thanks to all. Happy 2023

To support the "Cervical Cancer Awareness Month" ideSHi carried out a successful school based dissemination program in urban Dhaka to make parents, teachers and school girls aware of the disease and the importance of vaccination for prevention in Bangladesh.

Cervical cancer a vaccinevpreventabe disease. We need to vaccinate young girls and older woman. Awareness is so low in LMICs and the connection of vaccination to prevention. A simple solution but how many of us know about this. #make HPV vaccination available for all who need it

Yet another step towards elimination of cholera. We have been busy giving OCV to Rohingya residents in a remote island in Bhasan Char in Bangladesh to prevent epidemics in the upcoming cholera season. Efforts together with CDC DGHS and Partners. May our dream come true

We need bold action to restore progress on immunization and prevent future outbreaks. We must continue to work together to: 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Reach zero-dose kids 🦠 Protect kids from measles 💉 Expand access to HPV vaccines 🌍 And #EndPolio globalhealthnow.org/2023-04/playin…

HPV vaccination by EPI is initiated in Bangladesh by targetting over 2 million girls, 10 to 14 years old in schools, and communities in Dhaka division first. ideSHi is working together by creating awareness by meetings with girls, teachers and parents and through social media.

Have followed Dr Saleem and knew of his contribution to the emerging problems in Bangladesh due to climate change. Many of the areas I work in are directly related to its aftermath and negative impact. Wish I had met him and not delayed my intentions. Will always be sorry.

One thing I love: talking about gender equality & how the state of women’s health & finances influences our broader global goals. I had the opportunity to sit down with Gavin Cleaver from The Lancet to share some solutions. 🎧Listen to the episode: podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/wom…
