Right, because "uncover the flaws of China’s own system" will absolutely benefit so many Americans under the current political situation.../s

I feel particularly sad for scientists who still think "Latin American or African" people should look to the U.S. for inspiration by default. Some history lessons are in order here... And why does it have to be "us or them"? Why can't it be "together"?

I was today years old to know that CAS has an official Twitter account... This one features our fellow astronomer, Sophie Dai! You should follow this account! I think it is actually pretty good!

For people who work on massive galaxies and focus on the low-surface brightness side, this is literally the dream... Hope we get to play with the data soon!

Heard some disturbing news that a Chinese student's post-doc offer was revoked by a Canadian institute (I heard it is Herzberg ) due to "pressure from the U.S. government". Two things: 1. We are keeping a list; 2. It would be nice to let us know before our students apply.

Just talk to a few Chinese astronomers, you will know there is no mystery, it is not the "biggest" at all, and there is no "military advantage" 😂 If you can read and write Chinese, a lot of information is in public. But I guess no one at WSJ has this extremely rare capability
