🇬🇧 The #AxeDrax (Axe Drax @axedrax.bsky.social @biofuelwatch ) campaign is calling for an end to biomass subsidies in the UK. It is centred on the Drax power plant in Yorkshire which is the single largest source of carbon emissions in the UK.

Hi Prof. Katharine Hayhoe! I love this 8 point infographic. As a GP and founder of @GreenerPractice to me, impact of climate solutions improves health through improving the determinants of health. Is there something with more engaging visuals to use with patients and public?

Very excited to receive my first batch of NHS Forest trees. What a future they hold through helping to reduce emissions and increase biodiversity across our Yorkshire Ambulance sites.

This is the difficult part of transition. Going green has to be clean. A well intended shift from coal to wood was a cleaner move but it isn’t clean and is actually detrimental to populations, carbon capture and biodiversity devastation.

Are we living in age that THIS doesn’t warrant reporting? The flooding has been described as the worst in decades and has displaced about 700,000 people. Read that again. 700,000 people. The population of an entire city with no homes to go to… apple.news/ASJHOQcZ7R-CdV…

GPs have to adhere to 10’s of 1000’s of NICE recommendations. Many contradictory and most not based on research done on GP patient populations. Leading to over testing & medicalisation. Much of our work does not fit into NICE tramline’s. NICE must adapt pulsetoday.co.uk/news/workload/…

GP practice receptionists are the glue that holds it all together. You do an incredibly difficult and skilled job under challenging circumstances. You are not appreciated or rewarded half as much as you should be. This feels inadequate but I just want to say thank you!

It’s crucial generalists are vakued as much as our specialist colleagues. Pre 2000s we had more GPs than specialists, there is now 0.6 of a GP per specialist. Healthcare outcomes are better when the system has primary care and generalism at its foundations
