We have an open position for a postdoc (2+ years) in collaboration with Matthieu Chavent matthieu Chavent : Multiscale modeling of actin filaments including large scale simulations with Tinker-HP TINKERtools #compchem

Outraged that Government & our very own MP Felicity Buchan voted against amendment to implement #Grenfell recommendations. Its no surprise as the Gov continue to fail the country - almost a year since the recomendations & so little has been done. 1000s still in dangerous homes.

This week my guestS are Caitlin Cornell of @KayTrue on all platforms (Sarah L. Keller) Lab and Fred Heberle of Ilya Levental.. They will talk about their back-to-back papers in PNASNews on Cryo-EM imaging of lipid domains in biomembranes. This Wed, 5pm CET. As always, link will be here shortly before the meeting

Solidarity w/ Birkbeck Justice for Workers. It's completely out of order for Birkbeck, University of London to stand by as Sodexo makes outsourced catering staff redundant, esp given that the uni has dragged its feet on bringing them back in house bbkjustice4workers.wordpress.com/2020/09/18/sod…

Cardiolipin-deficient cells have decreased levels of the iron–sulfur biogenesis protein frataxin buff.ly/2HhCZYL (Journal of Biological Chemistry)

It's been great settling in at Department of Chemistry - Aarhus University and getting to know my new colleagues :)

Fantastic to be at the inaugural meeting of the Lundbeck Foundation Investigator Network #LFIN, thanks for organising Lundbeckfonden Martin Meyer. A huge breadth of topics and techniques in the room - very exciting.

Latest paper out! We show how a disease-related variant of cardiolipin destabilises mitochondrial supercomplexes. Well done 1st time 1st author Noah Harrison & co-1st author Robin Corey @robincorey.bsky.social. Thanks as ever for invaluable input from Mark Sansom & Phill Stansfeld pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

With Anna Duncan, we wrote a perspective article on mesoscale simulations in the context of biological membranes. We also define meso-models to separate them from continuum and CG models. cell.com/biophysj/pdf/S…

MASSIVE CONGRATS to Rebecca Abrams and Alice Jolly, who’ve won their landmark case against Oxford for sticking them on over a decade’s worth of sham contracts. University of Oxford, we’re watching: these practices won’t go ignored any more. theguardian.com/education/2024…

With Anna Duncan CHARMM-GUI (W Im) labs and colleagues, we wrote a review on "Recent Advances in Modeling Membrane β-Barrel Proteins" link.springer.com/protocol/10.10… ) published in the "Transmembrane β-Barrel Proteins" book edited by Raffaele Ieva link.springer.com/book/10.1007/9…

🚨Don't miss the deadline (May 31) to register for this CECAM - Psi-k workshop in the frontiers of machine learning and biomolecular simulations. List of main speakers, research topics and a great venue place at Max-Planck-Institut für Polymerforschung in Mainz🇩🇪. cecam.org/workshop-detai…
