The authors of the new AD withdrawal paper will have serious questions to answer in the coming weeks & months. Their public claims that withdrawal is a non-issue & guidelines must change, are a serious threat to patient safety & public health.... the pushback has not yet begun...

Appropriately skeptical reception of the JAMA study down under: "A large systematic review of research into the process of withdrawing from the drugs was published this week, but it quickly faced backlash from some psychiatrists and experts." bit.ly/3U7kpVd

My rapid response in The BMJ hope that uncritical coverage...does not lead to further harm to people suffering from withdrawal...by creating unwarranted complacency amongst clinicians or undermining the small efforts being made by the NHS..." bit.ly/4lL1dbQ

"If read uncritically, this new study could cause significant harm by misleading patients, clinicians, guidelines and policy makers." Plain speaking piece from Simon Opher, Labour MP and GP bit.ly/4kDAfSw

New review of my book: 'Though sure to continue challenging people’s ingrained beliefs, it needs to be known. As Vasily Grossman put it, “It is the writer's duty to tell the terrible truth, and it is a reader's civic duty to learn this truth.”' amazon.co.uk/Chemically-Imb

I never thought there'd be a day in which I'd be watching Dr. Roger McFillin , Adam Urato, MD , Dr Joanna Moncrieff , Dr. Josef đŸ‡ș🇾 , Jeffrey Lacasse , and David Healy speak at the U.S. FDA about the risks of taking SSRIs in pregnancy but here we are. Cheek-pinching moment. What a time of

Remember the Henssler review on antidepressant withdrawal, which, once again, mainly focused on short-term trials? - well, here is a powerful rebuttal of that review, led by Dr Joanna Moncrieff & published today 👇 cambridge.org/core/journals/

I was honoured to take part in the FDA's panel on the risks of SSRIs in pregnancy yesterday chaired by Dr. Marty Makary and Tracy Beth Hþeg, MD, PhD. This is a huge issue with so many young women taking these drugs. I hope the UK and other countries will listen x.com/i/broadcasts/1

We received a response today from the NHS. They confirm that they will be updating their NHS website on #RLS to reflect the recent changes to NICE. Dopamine agonists ( #Ropinirole, #Pramipexole & #Rotigotine) will no longer be 1st line meds.
