What's next, the Professional Society of Foxes introducing legislation that mandates fox oversight of chicken coop design? These are great ideas, nothing to worry about.

THAT’S IT? This is what 20 years’ worth of spent nuclear fuel looks like safely stored at the former Maine Yankee nuclear plant. The plant generated 119 billion kilowatt hours of reliable power from 1972-1996, which is enough to power half a million homes each year.

I try to avoid kicking this hornet's nest, but hey, YOLO: These new guidelines confirm FAST/FAST-Forward as the 5-fraction regimen of choice. (dives into nearest underground, shielded bunker)

Huh, who would have imagined the lead author of this study co-founded a company which makes the "free" software CMS will use to "measure quality" in its pay-for-performance reimbursement program. I wonder what the ROI will be on the "other health products" they plan to sell?

"Radiation Oncologists - evidently not content with spending the first two decades of the 21st century running trial after trial attempting to reduce or omit their own modality from modern cancer therapy - have now shifted their efforts to an entirely new level..."

Repealing the fictional LNT standard also means radbio board exams will contain 10% fewer paradoxes. The first time you start seeing these graphs from the NRCP, you begin wondering if someone slipped LSD in your coffee.

"Ensures access to technologically advanced cancer treatments" Disappointed to see this official #ROCR messaging today. This aspect of ROCR v2 is blatant COI/reg capture, and I expect most ROs would call it that if they could speak freely. 1/x

The radiation #oncology workforce increased 16% from 2015 to 2023, but the number of organizations that employed radiation #oncologists decreased 13%. This could mean patients have fewer options for care, according to a study in IJROBP - The Red Journal ASTRO. bit.ly/3SJBd3T

My favorite irony: these are advertised to "reduce side effects". Appropriate treatment planning and IGRT has a 0% rate of "hematoma requiring laparotomy".

Do you know how the Flexner Report was originally commissioned? It's a really interesting "untold" story. Recommend checking out this free lecture on YouTube. Im now reading his book on cronyism in early America, it is fascinating.

🚨 New AMA data confirms it: fewer than half of U.S. physicians are now in private practice. Just 42.2% in 2024, down from 60.1% in 2012. Let’s unpack the trends, what’s driving the decline, and why it matters for physicians & patients 🧵

It's weird to see a figure which succinctly illustrates one of the pillars of my disillusionment with mainstream academia. It's stuff like this that led me to tattooing Lamb of God lyrics up my leg during grad school. (Their 2009 album "Wrath" = A++)

Suppressors protect hearing. SBRs are not crimes. Both were removed from the NFA until one bureaucrat killed it. Overrule the Parliamentarian and finish the job!
