Two clear nights in a row, so here is tonight’s look at Messier 106 with the Unistellar #eVscope 🔭. But if you want to know why it’s a “seafood galaxy”, you’ll have to watch Dr Becky Smethurst’s Deep Sky Videos video! (youtu.be/8aWNe3eehmk)

The forecasts for tonight look good for a possible repeat of last night’s spectacular #aurora. Get outside after 10.30pm, and look north.

I’m still smiling. This was our view of the Northern Lights over Oxford, UK 😍 I expected a glow on the horizon, not dancing ribbons overhead, with colours I could just see with my eye! If you missed it last night there’s a strong chance you’ll see them tonight #Auroraborealis

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dr. Becky Smethurst, Dr Becky Smethurst, is unable to give this evening’s public talk. We’re very grateful to be having Prof. Shane Larson, Shane L. Larson, to give his talk “MONSTERS IN THE COSMIC SEA: Black Hole Tales from the Edge of Space and Time”.

Obsessed with black holes? ⚫ You'll love the latest episode of The Supermassive Podcast from the Royal Astronomical Society. In it, Izzie Clarke ⚡, Dr Becky Smethurst and Robert Massey answer an eclectic mix of listener questions about the mysterious cosmic objects, including one about a dog... 🤔

Hard to believe it’s a decade since European Space Agency’s ESA Rosetta Mission arrived at its comet. The trilogy of films we made for #skyatnight are my favourite - amazing access to a team who trusted us, & a very hard working BBC team who finished the show about an hour before broadcast.

Why is this cool?? Because it’s one step closer to making a new element - unbinilium - which would be the heaviest element ever synthesized. What’s cool? Scientist at Berkeley found a new way to make Livermorium (an element with 116 protons! So, just 4 protons away from

Would love to get last minute seated tickets for the Eras Tour tonight or tomorrow in Wembley - if anyone has an unused fan code (i.e. you only bought 2 tickets of the allowed 4 on your code) that they’d be willing to share I’d be so grateful🙏🏻 #TSTheErasTour #TSTheErasTourLondon

Tonight's #skyatnight is a great one - the Milky Way's secrets, some Cornish archeology and the wonderful Alice Gorman. As ever, if you care about good science on the BBC you need to watch it. Tune in at 22.15 or catch us on iPlayer.
