#ACR22 Recap: Presenters looked at how advances in imaging & therapeutics could improve the diagnosis, monitoring, & treatment of PMR → acr.tw/3WmBZUA Claire Owen

Wondeful talk this morning in our grand rounds by Claire Owen from Austin Health Presenting very elegant data about PET/SCAN in patients with PMR as well as promising data with TCZ therapy in naïve and refractory patients. #PMR Link for her editorial 👉 www-jrheum-org.sire.ub.edu/content/46/12/…

Pleasure to speak on #PMR clinical challenges for #ARA23 and share much needed advances in this common rheumatic disease David Liew Stephen Hall Tony Sammel ARA Early Career Group

Pleased to share our latest work documenting the evolving role of imaging in #GCA Dr Max Yates David Liew helen keen Catherine Hill Sarah Mackie authors.elsevier.com/a/1hBdd_YcMqNA…

Excited to join Dr. John Cush for Tuesday Night Rheumatology and contribute to Make Rheum for #PMR this October🤩

Thrilled to see this #PMR research project funded by Arthritis Australia and look forward to getting started! David Liew @DrCMcMaster Catherine Hill Sarah Mackie

A huge day for #PMR, no doubt this is its “one small step….” moment🙌. Feeling hopeful that this is the beginning of a therapeutic paradigm shift for our patients NEJM David Liew Sarah Mackie @SattuiSEMD Dr Max Yates Catherine Hill

Tony Sammel presenting 5 yr follow up of GAPS study. Showed resolution of cranial activity in GCA but 45% new aortic activity on PET. Exclusively in this not taking a DMARD. It's a small study (n=11) but is it early evidence of disease modifications? #ACR23

Congratulations to Tony Sammel on presenting the 5 year results of the GAPS study. Providing fresh insight into GCA’s potential natural history at large vs. cranial vessels👏

Come say hi at poster 1890 #ACR23 - AI to diagnose atypical #PMR on PET/CT. Delighted to see Dr Emily Martin present this important work Austin Health ARA Early Career Group David Liew @DrCMcMaster Bonnia Liu

MSK conditions are third disease group contributing to burden of disease of Australians. Research funding for MSK disease doesn't reflect this. Arthritis Australia Mark Butler MP NHMRC AusRheum

Thanks Catherine Hill! Pleased that I could still be a part of Vasculitis Workshop Barcelona #VasculitisBCN2024 and share our #PMR research Austin Health - pmrgca.com.au

PMR patients get too much steroid. Data across 27 million people in England, n=39,438 with PMR. The blue are getting more pred than guidelines. Like everything in rheum: we need to be giving less pred, not more. Lumping PMR in with GCA won’t help. #EULAR2024 POS0411 Dr. John Cush
