Imagine a world where the #NHS only part funded cardiology, where 3/4 angioplasties relied on second hand clothing and fun runs. This is the reality for #EndOfLifeCare

Excellent letter by Simon Noah Etkind in BMJ on assisted dying "The inequity of care provision at the end of life is neglected in the debate about assisted dying." bmj.com/content/365/bm…

This is a wonderful initiative: a 'make a wish' ambulance to fulfill end of life requests: see a mountain or a concert, go to the beach or a sports game, visit your family or the chip shop. ambulancewishfoundation.org.uk They are willing to consider all requests. Pass it on! 1/

This is great news. Not just the money (which let’s face it is 2.5% of what the Hospice sector has to raise annually), but the message. Great that the PM acknowledges funding challenges in the hospice sector, and to have his support. Well done Tracey Bleakley Robert Peston Hospice UK

Such a good article by Charlotte Church, with strong message about palliative care. By sharing her experience, she will make a difference to others. Also, she is totally right about ā€˜syringe drivers’. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Volunteers are unequally distributed across end of life care settings. Catherine Walshe notes that her local hospice, 10 beds, has 700 volunteers. Her local care home, 60 beds, has 3 volunteers.

Emerging from #newborn haze and catching up on tweets to see if I’ve got any functioning #neurones left up there... it’s 50:50 at the mo #newmum #11weeksold
