Elliot Tapper Jasmohan Bajaj Andrew Moon Patty Pringle Bloom, M.D. Prof Rajiv Jalan There is a lovely study published in Gut 2003 by Prof Rajiv Jalan that shows giving 1L of saline significantly reduces blood ammonia and increases urinary ammonia excretion. Giving 1L NaCl will do no harm but aspiration when a patient can’t protect their airway with grade 3 #HE will!
