The world greeted me in a beautiful way on my last drive home from the final day in the office of my 34 year career serving public education. A relaxing reminder of so many things; peace, promise and the bigger picture. #Peace

Day 1 of retirement has been a TOTAL vibe that matches my hat given to me by a friend. 😀 Easier in my head than in my heart, but gladly distracted by sunshine, family & a fish fry of what my husband & I caught in Matagorda Bay. Feeling grateful & excited about “next.”

This is SO important! It seems simple, but simple is not always easy. Take the time, make the effort and trust that there is power and rest in peace.

What a view! 🍉 please tell me, how do YOU pick a good watermelon? High pitch sound when you thump it? Look for a brown, curly stem? Weight? Smell? Ground spots? I’ve tried lots of methods, but I continue to pick poorly.

Devastation of so many areas & so many families. The need is great for all things: prayer, hope, efforts, peace and more.

Evidence of forever. The sun rises & sets providing objective proof that there is & will be another day. Our emotions, thoughts & ideas change, but each day provides the consistency we need…the proof of “next”, “better” or “peace.” Soak it in.

Two different fawns resting in our backyard for a few hours today. One of them even fell asleep for a short time. Such a delight to watch them…intentionally finding joy in moments instead of fleeting appreciation. #Peace
