Spent the weekend up in the #Brévine Valley with a notoriously cold microclimate to get my "snow fix". Was expecting some cold but certainly not -31C cold! Apparently lowest temp in 10+ years. As us Brits would say, "it's absolutely baltic out there!"

Glad to share our new preprint, structure of the recently discovered Lamassu bacterial defense system, which is related to Rad50/Mre11 (RM). Our study reveals how Lamassu stays sequestered and activated after phage infection.

Happy to be part of this fantastic collaboration between the Gruber, Blokesch and Szczelkun Labs to elucidate the activation mechanism of the Lamassu defence system, all spearheaded by the brilliant Yan LI with her beautiful structures! Teamwork makes the dream work!
