Does how we measure P use efficiency (PUE) matter? Yes; by *a lot*. PUE estimated indirectly by difference (crop P uptake with vs without P fertilizer) gives lower, and sometimes negative, PUE values than when determined directly by radioisotope labeling. acsess.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ae…
