Despite a bold Government pledge to end out-of-area placements for specialist mental health support, our analysis shows the number of young people being sent further than 50km from home rose by 9% between 2020 – 21. That’s 2,337 young people.

Yesterday we buried my beautiful and brilliant Mum. She had wanted to walk this walk for macmillan just like she did last year, but never got the chance. We will walk it for her. Macmillan were a great support in her final and 3 previous cancer journeys.justgiving.com/fundraising/in…

Many patients with an eating disorder struggle with unhealthy exercise. Our patients want to talk about this and need help on how to build a healthy relationship with exercise. We need more research into having a repertoire of interventions that work.

In summary, if we REALLY want more research in the NHS, we need to stop making clinical academic careers near-impossible & start making them fun, accessible to all those with the talent/wish to follow that path, valued, supportive of the training needed. 9/9.

The literature on this topic is growing rapidly but we don’t seem to be seeing any reduction in the relative age effect in practice
