🚨 In a new open-access article, I looked at how discrimination longitudinally disadvantages everyone in the classroom. Students, including White youth, had worse grades, test scores, and engagement when they witnessed discrimination from teachers directed at classmates of color.

Beautiful reminder as I am working on job applications. This snippet reminds me of my why for doing this work. My research on healthcare experiences and inequity is dedicated to my Aunty Kim. May she rest in powerful peace.

I don’t know where the dance world would be without Judith Jamison. Alvin Ailey made “Cry” specially for her & all Black Women. Her legacy & what she brought to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater as a dancer & director changed culture as we know it.

As I look back on my parents’ journey in the fight for freedom, I’m reminded that every day wasn’t easy. The path they walked was filled with challenges, setbacks, and sacrifices. But even on the hardest days, they never gave up—they believed in a vision of justice and equality

An honor! Excited to repost. See below for a link the (free!) article. Our evidence suggests that learning about medical racism increases perspective-taking with Black Americans.
