For those misled by the The New York Times that it’s all sunshine and roses for women in medicine, here is a rigorous study showing gender differences in compensation aren’t fully explained away by differences in hours worked (or many other factors). The changes to the epa research standards are unethical. They will not protect patients and individuals who participate in research. As a cancer prevention specialist, I am gravely alarmed. #oncoalert

There are already many barriers (primarily funding and industry players) that limit how we study the health effects of pollution in our natural environment and at our jobs. This change will surely result in more pollution and cause early mortality for adults and children.

In 2017 I underwent a cancer surgery with a ~2-3% mortality rate. That statistic hit me the night before the operation, when I became an anxious insomnaic. As we confront the #coronavirus threat, we should be careful of each other, we should be kind, while there is still time.
