In 2023, 2.5 million people contracted TB in the WHO African Region, and over 400,000 lives were lost—one every minute. Drug-resistant TB remains a growing threat, with 62,000 cases reported yearly. Urgent investment is needed to strengthen prevention, diagnosis, and care.
