Almost 4,000 Australians are diagnosed with head and neck cancer each year, and oral cancer is one type. John Farnham’s diagnosis comes as a shock to many, but as La Trobe University experts write, there is little public awareness about oral cancer. bit.ly/3Rab9MD

Citing research by @rebeccanund, Dr Justin Roe reminds us that we need an interdisciplinary and proactive approach to support the swallowing, nutrition and lifestyle changes of our patients and their carers/family post head and neck cancer treatment. ANZHNCS

Absolutely - I love @rebeccanund qualitative publications on dysphagia following head and neck cancer. Eating and drinking is often a social activity. Patients can be excluded if they can't eat. The psychological impact of dysphagia need to be considered more.

Finally found an hour for "snack writing" our paper on the development of a tool to measure the impact of #dysphagia on #carers of people with #HNC and the fire alarm in the building went off 15 minutes in! Why is writing SO hard! #AcademicChatter #academicmom
